Your first joykwondo exercise:
The Joy Journal
Get yourself a “Joy Journal”. You can use anything from a digital journaling app to a pink furry diary from the dollar store. Whatever your style, use the journal often to answer the following five questions:
- WHAT BROUGHT YOU JOY TODAY?
- WHY DID THAT BRING YOU JOY?
- WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU ABOUT YOURSELF?
- WHAT ARE SOME SIMILAR SITUATIONS THAT WOULD BRING YOU THE SAME KIND OF JOY?
- WHAT COULD YOU ACTIVELY DO TO GET INTO ANY OF THOSE SITUATIONS?
Answering and reflecting on these five simple questions as often as possible will help you discover your authentic self and learn what life choices would bring you the most joy and fulfillment. You’ll thank yourself!
You might also want to establish some kind of a portfolio to keep your souvenirs from any other JOYkwondo exercises you choose to do. Again, this can simply be a folder on your computer, or you can have a nice tangible binder or scrapbook. There are THIRTY JOYkwondo exercises listed on the homepage. You should keep ALL of your completed exercises for yourself. You can browse through them later and celebrate how awesome you are! It’ll be just as important (if not more) as your family photo albums.
